It feels like absolutely forever since I sent off my portfolio at the end of December. After all the Christmas festivities, there was a huge build up towards my hand in date as I bargained with myself, and decided that it had to be done in 2016. Then there was the waiting. Almost three months of pause and ponder.
As I left work on Tuesday, feeling tired and ready for a cup of tea, I finally received the email. Hooray! Forget caffeine, it was such a buzz to know I was finally qualified and could get planning my forest adventures. I’ve spent most of the afternoon tweaking my website and responding to various social media questions and congratulations (big thanks to those people by the way).
Next on the job list: I want to find a space to run sessions, build up some contacts and start having some Forest School fun.
After Easter I am running a Forest School club at my current school as we’re lucky enough to have a woodland in the village. I’d love to be involved with more Derbyshire schools so, please teachers, get in touch! You can download my official Blackbird Forest School Leaflet as well to learn more about Forest School.
I’m also looking for fabulous parents who want to get outdoors, re-wild your children and meet like-minded families. Go ahead and like my Facebook page or follow on Twitter to keep up to date with events and updates. I do love posting on Instagram with outdoorsy inspiration and child-friendly activities too.
Check out the new Ethos page to discover what makes Blackbird Forest School tick.
My Etsy shop Blackbird Forest Art is still stocked up with nature inspired goodies.
Come and say hello if you’re interested in our Forest School sessions.
